Since yesterday morning, the Stade de Holtzwihr hosts the second edition of the Girl Alsace Cup.

After the presentation of the sixteen participating international teams, by the initiator of the project Hassan Kbida, the qualifying meetings began on the Annex field, the field of honour being unavailable due to the heavy rainfall.

Best Women’s Clubs

This second exceptional edition brings together talented players, prestigious clubs and has the French international’s godmother, Sonia Blackmore. It was able to be set up, thanks to the support of Robert Ley, founding president of Racing HW 96 and vice president of IFFHS, assisted by Frédéric Jaeglé, the elect and the generous sponsors.

The Olympique Lyonnais, the largest women’s club in Europe, again present, shares the headline of the tournament, with FC Barcelona, the TIPS of Finland and Manchester City. The best French women’s clubs are also part of the game: Montpellier, Juvisy, Saint-Maur (winner of the first edition of the tournament), Nice or Troyes. Not forgetting the brilliant Alsatian clubs including RC Strasbourg, the SR Colmar or the RHW96.
